简介：丹寧寺大經堂內外聚集着數以千計的喇嘛、達官貴人和虔誠的信徒，他們都在恭候女活佛吉尊桑姆坐牀大典的來臨。銅鐘敲響了，大經師點燃桑祭神的聖火，把佛冠莊重地戴在女活佛的頭上，人們虔誠地葡伏在地上。忽然，管家朗傑跑來通知大經師，世界屋脊發生了一件大事件，年邁的大經師暈倒在地。夜晚，女活佛爲大經師跳神驅鬼。貴族崗穹賽來到丹寧寺，把上司寫給女活佛的信遞了上去，等着護送她出國。管家極力慫恿女活佛出國，認爲唯此才能保住噶舉派的衣鉢。女活佛開始準備行裝。這時，她又收到中共瓊卡分工委來的信，信中真誠地勸她留在國內，不要聽信謠言。大經師從昏迷中醒來，看了兩封信，他鮮明地把崗穹賽的來信扔到一邊。大管家叫來司卜求卦，卦底白絹條上寫着走，大經師經受不住這個走字，謝世而去。女活佛把大經師後事交給管家，自己隨崗穹賽出走了。在邊境的蒼巴山谷，爲挖食野菜，女活佛的侍女白瑪誤食毒蘑身亡。危難之時，女活佛過去的侍衛羅旦和侍女竹嘎勸說女活佛不要出國，未成，便決定跟隨女活佛一同出走。女活佛曆盡千辛來到了印度，她逛小鎮時，意外發現了中華人民共和國駐當地商務處所在地。而她的行蹤全被崗穹賽的人看在眼裏。一天，老太太央宗拜訪後，女活佛發現佛冠不見了，精神受到強烈刺激。昏睡中，她夢見了自己死了。驚醒時，她被兩個大漢綁架到密林中，他們想用姦污拍照的方法逼迫她參加新德里會議。崗穹賽和羅旦搭救女活佛，崗穹賽不慎被毒蛇咬傷。爲給他醫治蛇傷，女活佛等人住進央宗別墅。她派羅旦去代理處，與國內建立了聯繫。女活佛給崗穹賽換藥，崗穹賽之妹敏姬喝了央宗送來的茶，三天後中毒身亡。原來央宗是派來監視崗穹賽的人。崗穹賽決定爲女活佛找回佛冠，不再參與神聖事業。一天，羅旦報告女活佛，代理處通知將有人綁架她去參加會議，女活佛讓羅旦再去代理處商議，不想羅旦被人劫走。崗穹賽在戴墨鏡的人監督下，勸女活佛去開會，被拒絕，便將她軟禁起來。入夜，女店主送飯進入女活佛臥室，她請女活佛穿上她的衣服出走，脫離險境。女活佛終於回到祖國。在她重新掌教的儀式上，有一個人走進丹寧寺大經堂，跪拜在她的寶座下，這人就是崗穹賽。

People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart.　　Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory　　n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in.　　What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts.　　On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired.　　One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places.　　Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
